World Art Day 2020

European Art to enjoy

Happy birthday Leonardo da Vinci (1452 – 1519). In honour of the great Italian artist and polymath, April 15th has been the date of the International Art Day since 2017. We would like to bring European art and culture closer to you and want to start today.

Art & Culture …

  • have an outstanding significance for society. They reflect social debates, they offer frictional surfaces for dealing with reality, they point beyond everyday events.
  • are an expression of human existence. The confrontation with art and culture refers to the past and the handling of transmitted values, it also has a future-oriented dimension and contains visions of a future society. The discourses of society are thus revealed in dealing with art and culture.
  • are considered to be of outstanding importance for the development of society. In a multi-ethnic society, art, culture and cultural education are becoming increasingly important to promote integration and highlight the positive elements of cultural diversity.

In the next days we will show you 7 different ways how to enjoy European art and culture – for FREE.
